What is the Business Improvement Programme?
The Programme consists of an internal business improvement team working alongside us to identify areas for
improvement within your business, and with, where necessary, coaching, mentoring and training, using a blend of
comprises of a blend Lean Management and Business Improvement Techniques work to achieve the aim – the
improvement.
The programme is based on nationally recognised ‘occupational standards’ and uses tried and tested methods to cost
effectively compare your business processes against the desired ‘industry standard’  Back to menu
How does the programme work?
The Business Improvement Programme runs inside your organisation.
An in-house project team is created comprising of selected members of staff and managers working alongside our own
facilitators to:
  • Identify problems or areas for improvement
  • Resource, evaluate and agree options for solving those problems or achieving the improvements
  • Present the solution to senior management and seek agreement to effect the improvement(s)
  • Working as a team to effect the improvement(s) - to execute the project
  • Measure the success of the improvement(s) at the end of the project
  • Report to the board upon the results and receive recognition for the improvements made to the business. Back to menu

Who is involved in the business improvement team?
There are three parties that make up the programme.
 1. A team made up of selected members of your own staff, typically, a manager/supervisor/team leader and four staff
from one or more other departments.
 2. Our own team of experienced and qualified facilitators.
 3. Your senior management or board, to whom the improvement team reports to. Back to menu

Can it be tailored exactly to my company/organisation?
The core business improvement programme is generic and worked accross all organisations. However, if an organisation

What happens on completion of the programme?

your business will have made cost savings and/or quantifiable operational/business improvements

the project team members each receive a nationally recognised accredited qualification in recognition of their
contribution and as an essential part of their continuing professional development.

We leave in place an experienced and qualified team that now have a track record.

The outcomes of the programme are replicable. The team remains in place to continue making improvements in the

How long will the programme run?
  • The programme is designed to run for 18 weeks.
  • You have the option to add in additional modules and shape the programme to meet any of your additional needs.
How much does the programme cost?
This is difficult for us to declare at this stage as each organisation is different. The programme cost will depend upon your
requirements and the level of input needed from us. However before we explore your requirements and calculate your
answer for you we can say;
  • the cost per Business Improvement team member per month is far less than a typical accountant or consultant would
charge
  • The cost of the programme is fully tax deducible
  • The programme may be eligible for grants and funding from parties such as the Skills Funding Agency and the Carbon
Trust
  • semta and it’s awarding body state a typical Business Improvement to cost ratio of 6:1 - a typical programme paying
